Life and Rodeo

My name is Anthony(Stoney)Covington. I have had some hard times with rodeo . I was taught by my grandfather Leo Covington and my uncle Blaine Covington.

I started when I was three years of age. I was scared when I was young, but now I'm never scared to get on anything but now I'm thirteen years old.

My grandfather was in the Rodeo Cowboys Association (RCA). My uncle was in the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association(PRCA). I am in the Carabo Trail JR. Rodeo Association (CTJRA) and also the Eastern Washington JR. Rodeo Association(EWJRA).

I placed second in the state finals inthe steer riding, third in the bareback riding, and sixth in the in the chute "doggon."

On my steer I had one that made a crooked line when it was buckin'. When the eight secends was over I went down on the neck and got back up and pulled my tail on my rope. I hit the ground in front of the steer and he just knicked my head . I got up really fast and my eyes were really big.

I was the first one to make a ride and I was smiling all the way back to the chutes. I was leading it with a score of 70 points. After that I helped my friend Cody Scholts make a ride. He scored 69 points. He was right behind me in the standings. I tied with my friend Waylon Timentwa-- two 70s .
